Golfing in Aspen

High-altitude golf is one of the great summer pastimes in the Roaring Fork Valley, and not only because balls fly farther at high altitude. The courses in Aspen and Snowmass offer varied terrain set to gorgeous mountain vistas, and multiple tee boxes mean everyone from novices to pros can have a great time. The following is a selection of the Roaring Fork Valley’s golf clubs accessible to visitors.

Snowmass Club
Designed by Jim Engh, this 18-hole, par-72 course features an undulating landscape and breathtaking views. The 7,008-yard private course features undulating design, creating a one-of-a kind “Irish links course with mountain flair.” Limited public play opportunities are available after 1:00pm. The driving range, putting green and short-game practice areas are available to golfers one hour prior to tee times.

When award-winning architect Jim Engh designed the Snowmass Club Golf Course, he took cues from the ranching families that had inhabited these valleys for a century. The result was a course with majestic views, challenging landscapes, and sensitivity to the land and the sky above it.  The fairways are sculpted, the greens are challenging, and the bunkers are downright frightening. With five sets of tees, novices and pros alike are guaranteed an adventure.  For information and an invitation to experience the Snowmass Club lifestyle, contact the Membership Office.
